CPR and First Aid:

DDS doesn’t keep a list of appropriate agencies that do CPR or first aid training.  Any provider with a component of in-person instruction, and a practical application test (not computer question and answer) is acceptable.

The Water Safety for Parents and Caregivers Online Course

Anyone can take the course, you can register at https://www.redcross.org/take-a-class/classes/water-safety-for-parents-and-caregivers
It is at no cost to you.

The Water Safety for Parents and Caregivers Online Course focuses on developing an awareness of the risks of drowning and how to minimize those risks, especially for young children. This online course teaches parents and caregivers about the concepts of the circle of drowning prevention, water competency and the chain of drowning survival. It also provides guidance for applying water safety to common environments and situations where children are most at risk for drowning.

The information on this site remains the property of The Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS) or the person who created it.  You may use this information in a classroom for training purposes only.  No materials may be sold for more than the cost of reproduction without the explicit consent of The Department.  Where effective use of the materials requires training, do not use or support their use without the required training being provided. (For example, providing facilitator training without having successfully completed the course for facilitator trainers.)  Training information can be obtained from any Regional Learning and Development Director.
